This hands-on workshop is designed to help district data managers accurately review, verify, and update cohort exit records used for graduation rate calculations and accountability reporting. Participants will learn how cohort classifications are determined, how exit codes affect accountability outcomes, and the documentation required to support cohort exit changes. The session will focus on identifying students in the incorrect cohort category, reviewing acceptable evidence for transfers, graduates, dropouts, and other exit types, and navigating the Cohort Exit Updating application. Participants will also review common data quality issues, audit expectations, and best practices for maintaining documentation that supports student outcomes and ensures compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
