BARR Center Opportunity for Rhode Island Schools

Target Audience:
LEA Leaders and School Principals

Abstract:

Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) is a strengths-based K–12 coaching and training partner with a 25-year track record of improving student math and reading outcomes, decreasing chronic absenteeism, increasing teacher satisfaction and retention, and reducing student disciplinary incidents and suspensions. The BARR model is widely recognized as one of the most proven, systemwide school improvement models in K–12 education.

RIDE will provide six (6) Rhode Island schools—three (3) schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and three (3) non-CSI schools. RIDE is seeking schools at the elementary, middle, and high school level to partner with BARR.

Participating schools will receive professional learning, tailored coaching, implementation tools and resources, and access to a national network of BARR educators.
