This one-day workshop will focus on strategies for asking questions that are of greater complexity. CCSS ELA standard 1 is heavily measured on the new NCSC alternate assessment. This workshop will be differentiated for those who teach students taking the RIAA. There are two goals for this workshop:

1.      Explore the learning trajectory of CCSS ELA standard 1 in order to develop an understanding of the alignment of that standard within the K012 context.

2.      To explore strategies to use to help students gain a deeper understanding of the texts that they are presented to in class.
