RIDE is pleased to announce the opportunity for a limited number of coaches, district and building MLL leads, educators, and specialists working with MLLs or who are coaching or teaching in bilingual / dual language settings to participate in a three-hour training with expert Antonio Fierro on September 3rd from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. 

Dr. Fierro will provide an overview of reading research with an emphasis on the connection to literacy development for MLLs. Participants will compare the phonology, orthography, and syntax of Spanish and English to understand the similarities and differences that require explicit instruction to best support skilled reading acquisition for MLLs. Seats are limited to 40, so we highly encourage participants who attend to share what they learn with their colleagues
