10/27/2017  Reporting of Students in the SIS System  Mario P Goncalves
Dear Colleagues, This reminder is being sent to districts (Providence, Metropolitan CTC, Central Falls, Highlander Charter, and Pawtucket) who have 1 or more schools participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Please share this information with your CEP schools. Recently we’ve had a few questions from districts related to the reporting classification as it applies to the flag in the Student Information System (SIS) information related to nutrition program eligibility (FRPL) that is reported to RIDE. This email is intended to clarify for your district and/or schools the students should be reported in the SIS submission. They are: • Students matched through the Electronic Direct Certification (eDC) process; • Extended Directly Certified students based on sibling or household member status; • Students who received Direct Certification Letters issued by the Dept of Human Service (DHS); • Students identified by the district Homeless Liaison: • Students in foster placements in your district; and • Students determined eligible based on the Household Income Survey. Please note that participation in CEP does not mean that all students should be reported in your SIS system as free. The same procedures above are applicable to all others students in the SIS in schools not participating in CEP, however, the instead of a Household Income Survey, the Meal Benefit Application is used. You will receive a separate communication by early next week regarding the difference in reporting in your POS system as opposed to the Student Information System. If you have any questions concerning this, you can contact Mario.Goncalves@ride.ri.gov, Stephen.Carey@ride.ri.gov, or me. Thanks, Cindy Cynthia S.
