2/9/2012  [RIDE] - Teacher Email Template  Deanna Raphael-State
Good afternoon, For your reference: Yesterday the following email went out to all teachers in grades 3-7 that had a roster to verify. The email’s subject was: Roster Verification – Please Verify Your Roster. Dear TeacherFirstName LastName, The roster verification process for February is now open. Roster Verification (RV) is the process through which teachers and principals verify which students are in which teachers’ classes. This process is critical in ensuring the accuracy of teacher-course-student (TCS) data, which will be used in the new Instructional Management System (IMS), Educator Performance and Support System (EPSS), and Growth Model Visualization (GMV) data systems being developed under Race to the Top, as well as for educator evaluations. These systems will be available to educators at the start of the 2012-13 school year. For these systems to be useful and fair, class rosters must be accurate and up-to-date. If you are receiving this email, you have been identified as a contributing educator for ELA and/or math to students in grades 3-7 and the roster verification is applicable to you. A contributing educator is a teacher who has an assignment that is expected to contribute to the literacy or mathematics development of students. Every district is responsible for developing policy or guidance on this issue. If you have questions about this, your principal should be able to help clarify. The roster verification tool will be accessible online Wednesday, February 8 – Friday, February 17, 2012. You may only verify your rosters within this period. Go to to review and edit rosters that have been submitted to RIDE by your district. You should use your RI Certification issued username and password to login. To support you in this process, you can find a training video, user guide and FAQ document on the RIDE website at If you have questions or need assistance contact RIDE via email at or by phone at 222-8400. Sincerely, Mary Ann Snider Chief, Educator Excellence and Instructional Effectiveness -Deanna
