Secondary RTI for LD Identification
Target Audience:
Middle and High School Principals, Special Education Directors, Curriculum Coordinators, RTI Coordinators/Team leaders
Abstract:
Goal: To assist LEAs with the application for a waiver to delay the
requirement to use RtI as part of Learning Disabilities identification
at the middle and high school level.
This work session will present the use of the secondary RtI self
assessment as an implementation guide and a progress monitoring tool
that informs the development of the required action
plan to fully apply the RTI process in Learning Disabilities
identification by September 1, 2012. Participants will gain knowledge
and skills to successfully complete all components of the waiver
application (letter, self assessment, action plan), as well as broader
view of how the RTI process supports and connects to existing secondary
reform practices in RI.
